For Sale After Restoration: Mathushek Colibri Square Grand Circa 1863. This is an extremely rare miniature square grand made by the ingenious Fredrick Mathushek. He was responsibly for many of the developments that culminated in the modern piano including the modern hammer press that made it possible to press an entire set of hammers at once rather than one at a time by hand. This piano is compact with a very interesting string scale and a clear and beautiful singing treble. It measures only about 4'10" long. For sale after restoration. Please inquire about pricing.
For Sale After Restoration: Chickering Cocked Hat Parlor Grand Circa 1850s. Case in Rosewood. This is a very rare instrument built to fit compactly in the corner of a parlor room. This exquisite instrument has a gorgeous romantic and mellow sound that is hauntingly beautiful. Works extremely well for all music from the romantic era and forward, but can be wonderful for interpretations of music from all eras. Please inquire about pricing and terms of contract.
For Sale After Restoration: Anonymous Square. Late 18th century or early 19th century. Either English or American. Wonderful instrument for Late Baroque, Early Classical and European folk music among a multitude of other possibilities. These early squares are relatively difficult to come by in the US and are perfect for small concerts as they are very light weight and easy to travel with.
